The Atlanta Falcons organization suffered through a season unlike any other in the history of the NFL last year. The front office traded backup quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans on March 21. And approximately one month later "Bad Newz Kennels" and the large shadow of Michael Vick cast a dark cloud over the remainder of the offseason, training camp and the regular season. In one fell swoop the organization was without its two top signal callers, and for all intents and purposes the season was crippled before it even got off the ground. The Falcons were pathetic on offense and defense - losing six of the first seven games and six of the last seven games of the season en route to a 4-12 record. First-year head coach Bobby Petrino quit on the team late in the season, and some would say the team quit on him - long before he left the classless note (explaining his departure) in the player's lockers on the way out the door.
