I hate closers, always have, and always will. They are the most volatile asset in fantasy baseball, bar-none. The failure rate for closers is close to 40 percent each year, and this year is no different. 37 different pitchers have ten or more saves this season and that number increases to 47 if you go down to five saves or more. Either due to injury or ineffectiveness, the following pitchers has lost the closer role at some point this season: George Sherrill, Brian Fuentes, Kevin Gregg, Troy Percival, Billy Wagner, Brandon Lyon, C.J. Wilson, Matt Capps, Takashi Saito, Huston Street, Todd Jones, Jon Rauch, Ryan Franklin, Mike Gonzalez, J.J. Putz, Jason Isringhausen, Joe Borowoski, and Eric Gagne. That's 20 of the 37 pitchers that have ten or more saves this year!Associate Editor
