Here we are, staring at the end of the season. This will be the last middle reliever report where we could possibly help you with a last second pick up. As a result, we're going to ignore the obvious players like Joba Chamberlain and Carlos Marmol. In fact, we're probably going to mention 10 pitchers you might have never heard of before now. Teams with nothing left to play for often times still have players auditioning for roles in the future and as a result, are giving 110% effort. These will be pitchers who have excelled in a really short window. Riding a hot hand can be key when trying to shave .01 from an ERA or WHIP; or trying to gain five or six strikeouts.Associate Editor
