Newsbreakers
November 6, 2008
The Yankees have inquired about Brewers' slugger Mike Cameron, according to the NY Post.

Our View:The Brewers are weighing the idea of dealing the outfielder, and the club has been asking about Melky Cabrera, trying to determine why he struggled in 2008. The Brewers also reportedly did research on Wilson Betemit.
November 3, 2008
The Brewers have exercised Mike Cameron's club option for 2009, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The 35-year-old slugger will be paid $10 million for the upcoming season. He blasted 25 homers over 120 games for Milwaukee in 2008.
October 23, 2008
The New York Yankees would be interested in signing center fielder Mike Cameron if Milwaukee does not pick up his option, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Cameron would represent an upgrade both offensively and defensively in center field. He hit 25 home runs with 70 RBI, stole 17 bases, but his average was just .243.
October 10, 2008
The Milwaukee Brewers have yet to decide whether or not they will pick up the option on center fielder Mike Cameron's contract, and will wait until they decide what to do with GM Doug Melvin, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.com.

Our View:The Brewers have five days following the World Series to make up their minds. The option is for one year at $10 million, which is a bit pricey for a guy who hit .243 and struck out 142 times in just 444 at-bats, which is nearly once every three ABs.
October 4, 2008
Mike Cameron will be with the Brewers for Saturday’s Game 3 of the NLDS against the Phillies even though his wife underwent an emergency surgery on the previous day, according to the AP. Cameron left the team early Friday when he discovered that his pregnant wife was forced to undergo an unexpected C-section in Atlanta, delivering a baby girl.

Our View:Cameron is expected to be in tonight's lineup as the Brewers try to ward off elimination while trailing Philadelphia 2-0 in a best-of-five series.
