August 29, 2008 Elmer Dessens has been activated Friday by the Braves two days after agreeing to terms, according to the Our View:The 37-year-old is 48-61 with a 4.52 ERA in 356 appearances, including 140 starts. The Braves will be his eighth MLB club. He could be used as a starter or work in relief, but isn't likely going to hold much fantasy value. |

August 27, 2008 The Braves have agreed to terms with Elmer Dessens on a Major League contract for the remainder of the 2008 season, according to the Our View:The 37-year-old right-hander, who spent this year pitching in Mexico, is expected to join the Braves later this week. |

January 7, 2008 The Pirates inked Elmer Dessens to a minor-league deal Monday. Dessens began his career with the Bucs in 1996. He suffered through a terrible 2007 campaign, holding a combined 7.15 ERA in 34 innings for Milwaukee and Colorado. The veteran will compete for a job as the long man out of the bullpen. |

August 16, 2007 Elmer Dessens has been recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start in place of the injured Aaron Cook Thursday. Dessens held a 6.60 ERA in 12 relief appearances with the Brewers this year before being released. |
