If Kelvim Escobar, who had his last start pushed back due to shoulder inflammation, suffers a setback during his start on Saturday, Bartolo Colon will replace him in the postseason rotation, according to the LA Times. That said, if the Angels are even letting Escobar start on Saturday, they have to believe that he's in pretty good shape, so perhaps the team is just preparing for the worst-case scenario.

Kelvim Escobar was originally slated to start tonight against Texas, but he will instead have his next start pushed back to Saturday, according to the LA Times. "I think this is the smartest thing to do for me and for the team," said Escobar. "The thing is, if I was pitching [today] I don't know when I would pitch again because we don't know when the playoffs will start. I don't know if taking a long break is going to [help]." Escobar was scratched from his last start due to shoulder inflammation, and the Angels want to make sure he's fully ready for the playoffs.

Kelvim Escobar was able to toss a light bullpen session on Sunday. He's expected to return to the rotation on Tuesday, according to the LA Times. If all goes well, Escobar, who was scratched from his Saturday start due to shoulder inflammation, would get a second start this week on Sunday.

Kelvim Escobar, who was originally slated to start on Saturday, will have his start pushed back to either Tuesday or Wednesday because of inflammation in his shoulder, according to the AP. Kelvim Escobar, who will be activated from the disabled list today to start against the Tigers, didn't think a DL stint was necessary for his shoulder injury, according to the LA Times. "I don't think there was any need for the DL," said Escobar, who will be activated to start today against the Detroit Tigers. "I don't like to be on the DL, man — it's not good for you. For some reason, here, they don't wait to put you on the DL. I understand it's early April, and they want me to rest and make sure it's nothing serious. But I know myself, I know my arm better than anybody, and I knew it was a one-start thing. But I guess they do things different here. Next time, I won't say anything, because I don't want to go on the DL."

Kelvim Escobar was held out of drills Friday due to patella tendinitis in his left knee, according to the LA Times. It's the same problem that dogged him last season and failed to subside during the offseason. Escobar has all but cut out running to decrease the stress on his knee. "The good thing is I can throw — the only time it bothers me is when I'm running," said Escobar, who threw from a mound Wednesday. "If it was something that could be cleaned up with surgery, I'd do it, because I love to run, and it takes away a lot of things I like to do in spring training. I hope it gets better. I don't want to be dealing with this all year. It's a pain."
