MLB.com reports that Jake Westbrook had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right hip in Nashville, Tenn., on Friday. He is still recovering from Tommy John surgery that he underwent earlier in the summer.

Our View:You won't be hearing much from Westbrook any time soon. He won't pitch again until midseason of 2009 at the earliest.
September 3, 2008
Jake Westbrook is already out for the season following Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, and is going to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right hip Thursday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:The hip operation is not expected to hinder his recovery from Tommy John surgery.
July 23, 2008
Jake Westbrook, six weeks removed from Tommy John surgery, is doing well in his rehab, according to MLB.com. "It's stable," Westbrook said of his elbow. "I'm pleased with it. It's still a little achy and a little sore. Now it's a matter of letting it heal and doing some rehab."

Our View:Westbrook will likely miss the first half of next season, and therefore is likely not worth really thinking about in terms of fantasy production until late in 2009.
June 13, 2008
Jake Westbrook underwent successful Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Dr. Lewis Yocum performed the operation to transplant a tendon from his right wrist to replace the ulnar collateral ligament.

Our View:Westbrook is expected to fly back to Cleveland today and begin physical therapy immediately at Progressive Field. Recovery time for Tommy John surgery is normally 10-14 months.
June 7, 2008
Jake Westbrook is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:Jeremy Sowers will take Westbrook's spot in the rotation, until Fausto Carmona is ready to return.
