Cha Seung Baek threw a very good game in the Padres 6-2 win over Washington. He went seven innings, gave up five hits and one run while striking out five.

Our View:Baek has been excellent his last three outings, but it's too little, too late for fantasy owners.

Cha Seung Baek is suffering from a strained tricep muscle but Padres.com is reporting that Baek will be back on the mound Sunday for the Padres, if a side session on Friday goes well.

Our View:In Baek's last start he was only able to go two innings due to his injured tricep. During the last two months Baek is 2-4 with an ERA of 5.02, with those numbers Baek has no fantasy value.

Cha Seung Baek threw a side session Tuesday and will be re-evaluated Wednesday, according to the AP. He's dealing with right shoulder inflammation.

Our View:We'll update you on Baek's status when more is known.

Cha Seung Baek felt better on Monday and may not need to miss a start, MLB.com reports. He left his outing on Sunday after two innings due to a strained right triceps. "He's better, but still a little sore," manager Bud Black explains. "We're going to evaluate him day-to-day."

Our View:Baek's numbers have improved since moving from the Mariners to the Padres, but he is still not worth using in anything but deeper NL-only formats.
September 14, 2008
Cha Seung Baek was forced from his start against the Giants on Sunday due to a strained triceps muscle in his throwing arm, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Baek, who made it through two innings, could be shut down for the rest of the year. He lowered his ERA to 4.96, but merits no attention unless you are in an NL-only league even when he is healthy.
