Newsbreakers
August 6, 2008
The Indians placed Matt Ginter on the DL Wednesday with a right forearm strain.

Our View:Anthony Reyes will take Ginter's spot in the rotation.
August 3, 2008
Matt Ginter's fourth start ended like the last two, in defeat. Ginter allowed five runs in six innings against the Twins on Sunday, and is now 1-3 on the season.

Our View:Ginter has allowed 25 hits in just 21 innings, with the only thing keeping him from complete implosion being solid control (three BB). He merits little attention in anything but deep AL-only leagues.
July 23, 2008
The Indians got a solid outing from RHP Matt Ginter this evening but failed to put the runs up to support his cause, losing 3-2 against LA. Ginter pitched six, allowing three runs on seven hits with no walks and one strikeout.

Our View:Ginter tallied just one outing before this evening, earning a win with five innings of shutout baseball. He didn't throw a shutout tonight, but his efforts and potential stand alone.
July 12, 2008
Cleveland RHP Matt Ginter earned his first win of the season, helping the Indians to a strong 8-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Ginter pitched five innings, surrendering no runs on just five hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Our View:Ginter's first start of the season shows great promise and reason for optimism moving forward, playing against one of the hotter teams in the AL with more than a few capable hitters laid to rest along the way.
July 12, 2008
Matt Ginter has been called up from Triple-A Buffalo and will start tonight's game against the AL-East leading Rays, according to the AP. The team optioned righty Brian Slocum to Buffalo to make room on the roster.

Our View:Ginter posted a 6-6 record with a 4.14 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) with Buffalo this season. He doesn't merit fantasy consideration, especially with a tough first assignment against the Rays.
