Pitcher Randy Flores was not offered a contract by the Cardinals and has become a free agent, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:This is no surprise, as Flores was absolutely hideous last season, as in 25.1 innings he walked 20 batters while striking out 17.
September 27, 2008
Randy Flores underwent surgery to remove a cyst on his left shoulder but the St. Louis Cardinals official web site is reporting that he will be ready to go in spring training.

Our View:It was a season to forget for Flores who had an ERA of 5.26 and a WHIP of 3.10.
September 25, 2008
St. Louis reliever Randy Flores will undergo surgery on his left shoulder to remove a cyst and repair fraying in his labrum, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Flores was awful this season, which hampered the team's bullpen due to a shortage of lefties. He only threw 25.2 innings, but had a ghastly 7.01 BB/9 rate.
September 19, 2008
Randy Flores is expected to be examined by team doctors before pitching again, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Persistent shoulder stiffness remains a problem, and manager Tony LaRussa is not optimistic regarding his next appearance. Flores holds a poor 5.26 ERA and 2.10 WHIP this season, but his absence leaves Ron Villone as the only lefty available in the bullpen.
September 18, 2008
Randy Flores is unable to pitch on Thursday night against the Reds as he continues to have problems with his shoulder, according to the Cardinals official Web site.

Our View:The Cardinals and Flores have no idea when he is going to be able pitch again. You can be sure that fantasy owners are not on the edge of their seats waiting for him.
