John Parrish has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse, according to the AP. He replaces Shaun Marcum on the roster, who has been sent down to Syracuse due to control issues with his pitches.

Our View:Parrish is slated to take Marcum's spot in the rotation, and his next start will be Thursday against the Rays. Parrish is worth consideration in larger AL-only leagues, as he holds a 1-0 record over seven games (four starts) with a 4.05 ERA and passable 1.39 WHIP.

The Blue Jays optioned John Parrish to Triple-A Syracuse Tuesday.

Our View:The Jays optioned Parrish to open a spot in the rotation for Jesse Litsch.
July 21, 2008
The Blue Jays will stick with John Parrish in their rotation, for now. He allowed four hits and four runs over three innings in his July 20 outing, and he is scheduled to start on Friday. "We'll evaluate from there," general manager J.P. Ricciardi tells MLB.com. "The last one he struggled -- he'll be the first one to tell you that -- and the bullpen kind of saved us. In two out of three, he's given us a chance to win the game, so I think he's deserving of another start."

Our View:The Blue Jays want to eventually open up a spot for David Purcey, and Parrish is the one who could get booted. Of course, the Jays may also have an opening if they deal A.J. Burnett.
July 10, 2008
John Parrish had a second quality start for the Jays as he held the Orioles to three runs over seven innings in a no-decision on Thursday.

Our View:Parish has given the Jays a 2.77 ERA over 13 innings, and with the recent injury to Dustin McGowan, Parrish should remain in the Jays starting rotation for a while as a viable AL only option.
June 28, 2008
Toronto LHP John Parrish earned his first win of the season today, helping his Blue Jays put the Atlanta Braves to rest, 9-5. Parrish pitched six innings to allow just one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View:Parrish was called up to fill in for injured Shawn Marcum and performed nicely. Parrish was 10-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 15 starts at Triple-A and clearly deserves a shot hang in the majors and see if he can make the grade.
