September 17, 2008
Alex Rios helped the Blue Jays to a 8-7 win over the Orioles with a 3-for-4 night at the plate. In the seventh-inning Rios hit his 15th home run on the year.

Our View:In the months of August and September Rios has hit .326 with six home runs. Rios has had a good year for fantasy owners and with four more RBI he will reach 80 for the third straight year.
September 10, 2008
Alex Rios extended his hitting streak to 11 games on Wednesday night with a 2-for-5 effort against the White Sox. One of the two hits was his 14th home run of the year and the two RBI game him 72 on the season.

Our View:Rios continues a strong late season charge that includes a massive month of September that has so far produced a .419-4-12 line in just nine games. He won't reach last years home run total of 24, but if he keeps hitting like that he certainly has a shot at his third straight 80-RBI season.
September 8, 2008
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Alex Rios on Monday was named the American League Player of the Week, according to PA Sports Ticker.

Our View:Rios is batting .295 with 43 doubles, eight triples, 13 home runs, 68 RBI and 30 stolen bases for the season.
September 8, 2008
Alex Rios has been named the AL Player of the Week, according to the AP. Rios earned the honor by hitting .414 (12-for-29) with three doubles, two triples, three home runs and eight RBI.

Our View:Rios only has 13 homers for the season, but is enjoying a power surge in September, as he has three homers over six games in the month. Rios set a career-high with 24 homers in 2007.
September 5, 2008
Alex Rios was 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI on Friday night against the Rays.

Our View:Rios is having an excellent week and is beginning to flash his power again. In his past four games, he has 10 hits, three homers and a triple.
