Brian Lawrence made his debut with the Richmond Braves on Thursday, this according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Lawrence allowed three runs on six hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings.

Our View: After a rough two-run first inning, he retired 13 of the next 15 hitters. Given the state of affairs for the Braves pitching staff, Lawrence is on his way to the bigs for another go-around.

June 9, 2008
The Braves have purchased the contract of Brian Lawrence from the Camden Riversharks of the Independent League and assigned him to Triple-A Richmond.

Our View:Lawrence was 2-2 with a 3.21 ERA and 32 strikeouts to nine walks for Camden. He held a 6.83 ERA in six starts for the Mets last season. He'll provide depth at Triple-A for the Braves but isn't likely to have any fantasy value.

The Royals signed Brian Lawrence to a minor-league deal Friday, which included an invitation to spring training. Lawrence was not effective in limited action last year, allowing 43 hits and 22 earned runs over 29 innings.

The Mets designated Brian Lawrence for assignment on Tuesday. He made six starts this year, holding a 6.83 ERA.

As expected, the Mets called Brian Lawrence up from Triple-A on Thursday to start against the Brewers, according to the Sports Network. He has not pitched in the majors since 2005, and he deserves no attention in fantasy.
