Yankees infielder Cody Ransom could not have possibly dreamed of a better start. After homering in his first major league at-bat Sunday, Ransom took his second at-bat and hit another bomb, a three-run shot when he pinch-hit for Jason Giambi in the ninth inning of the Yankees win over the Orioles.

Our View:Ransom is now 2-for-2 with two home runs, five RBI, a 1.000 average and OBP, and a slugging percentage of 4.000. Not bad for his only two at-bats in a week.

August 15, 2008
The Yankees purchased the contract of Cody Ransom from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Friday. Ransom hit just .255 for Scranton but belted 22 dingers.

Our View:Ransom obviously has some pop, but his playing time will be very limited.

The Astros acquired infielder Cody Ransom from the Mariners in exchange for cash considerations. Ransom will begin the season at Triple-A Round Rock.
