Dane Sardinha has cleared waivers, and the Tigers outrighted him to Triple-A Toledo, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View:The team is pleased he cleared waivers, as he will maintain depth at catcher. He is also believed to have a shot at making the opening day roster as the number two catcher for 2009.

Catcher Dane Sardinha has been called up by Detroit to replace Brandon Inge, who went on the 15-day DL retroactive to Monday, reports the Detroit News. The 28-year-old was hitting .206 for the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.

Our View:Sardinha probably won't be up for long, and he should be a non-factor in fantasy leagues, though he sported a respectable .278 BA against lefties in Triple-A.
