Jorge De La Rosa twirled a gem going three shutout innings against the Giants on Thursday. He allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out seven batters to move to 10-8 on the season.

Our View:De La Rosa ends a tumultuous season on a positive note with two back-to-back victories, both of which he was on his game. He dropped his ERA from 5.38 to 4.92 in those outings. His 128 strikeouts in 130 innings makes the 26-year-old well worth eyeing in the later rounds come the 2009 draft.

Jorge De La Rosa threw 100 pitches in six innings against Arizona on Friday but it was good enough for his ninth win of the season. He allowed just one run on three hits and three walks.

Our View:De La Rosa picked up six more strikeouts in the process giving him 121 in 123 innings. Even with a 5.20 ERA, a strikeout ratio like that makes a pitcher worth having.

Jorge De La Rosa shutout the Giants for seven innings on Monday on his way to his eighth win of the year. De La Rosa walked only one batter while striking out six in the outing.

Our View:Don't look now, but De La Rosa has actually been a viable fantasy option of late. This was his fourth straight outing of at least six innings and in that stretch he has posted three wins and a 1.67 ERA, though he has started twice against the Giants and once against the Nationals in that time.

Jorge De La Rosa collected the loss as the Rockies fell to the Dodgers 1-3 on Thursday. De La Rosa only allowed one earned run while striking out three in six innings of work.

Our View:The problem was the Colorado offense which could only manage a single run of support for the hard luck De La Rosa.

The Rocky Mountain News indicates that Jorge De La Rosa is back in the Rockies' rotation, and Glendon Rusch moves to the bullpen. Manager Clint Hurdle said, "Jorge is growing up and I think a vote of confidence right about now might be something that can help him."

Our View:Hurdle has confidence in him, but fantasy owners should not give him another chance. He holds a 6.16 ERA and 1.60 WHIP over 21 games (16 starts) this season.
