The Phillies inquired about Garrett Atkins, but said that they had no interest in a deal that would call for them to deal top pitching prospect Carlos Carrasco, according to the Delaware News Journal.

Our View:The defending World Champs would like to improve their offense at the hot corner, but they obviously can win with Pedro Feliz so they don't have to make a deal for Atkins.

The Denver Post reports that a Rockies team official debunked the Garrett Atkins' trade rumor involving the Twins and Rays. The Rockies haven't spoken with teams about Atkins, and don't anticipate moving him.

Our View:If Todd Helton were to be deemed 100 percent for next season, a trade would seem more plausible, but right now the Rockies feel they may need Atkins to fill in at first base.

The Twins could renew their interest in Garrett Atkins after talks broke off with free agent Casey Blake, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Atkins has two years remaining on his current contract with the Rockies, but would likely be too expensive for Colorado to re-sign, which is why they've looked to deal him earlier in this offseason.

Garrett Atkins' agent told MLB.com that Atkins would be willing to listen to a fresh offer for a contract extension on Wednesday.

Our View:This comes as no shock after it was reported on Wednesday morning that it was unlikely that Atkins would be moved this winter. The Rockies have him locked up for two more years, meaning they could move him at the trade deadline this year or next winter as well.

There has been rampant speculation that the Rockies are attempting to trade third baseman Garrett Atkins, but that is not necessarily the case, according to the Denver Post. "There won't be an 'Atkins watch.' We are completely comfortable going into next year with him as a right-handed bat in the middle of our lineup," said team GM Dan O'Dowd.

Our View:O'Dowd did say that the team would still be listening to offers for Atkins, so the possibility him being traded remains realistic.
