Newsbreakers
August 15, 2008
John Buck is in a slump as he is hitless in his last 29 at-bats, according to the KC Star.

Our View:His average has dropped to .223 and he should be left on the bench as a fantasy catcher until he gets back on track.
July 29, 2008
The Royals had to practice patience, but the offense came through and earned the 5-2 win over Oakland. The main man was catcher John Buck , going 1-for-4 at the dish with his eighth home run of the season to drive in three.

Our View:Buck's homer came in the top of the seventh with two outs, sealing the win for the Royals. That's five dingers for Buck this month with 14 RBIs.
July 24, 2008
John Buck went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Rays. His hit was good for a double.

Our View:Buck has been hitting well (by his standards) as of late, and remains a viable option in AL-only leagues.
July 7, 2008
John Buck went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in Monday's exciting 7-4 victory over the Rays in Tampa Bay. The game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, until Buck blasted his homer in the top of the 10th inning (off Dan Wheeler) to lead the Royals' rally.

Our View:That was his first home run since June 14, snapping a 13-game drought.
July 3, 2008
John Buck, who suffered a bruised groin due to a Wednesday night foul ball, was not in Thursday's starting lineup.

Our View:Miguel Olivo started behind the plate. Buck is considered day-to-day.
