Newsbreakers
September 20, 2008
Jeremy Sowers only allowed one earned run on five hits over six innings in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Tigers, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View:Sowers looks to finish the season strong as two of his four wins have been earned in September, and he has only lost once in the month.
September 14, 2008
Jeremy Sowers lasted only three innings on Sunday as he was hit hard by the Royals to the tune of five hits and three runs in a no-decision.

Our View:Sowers escaped with a no-decision, but he continues to be the AL version of Bary Zito, that is a solid pitcher when he is "on" but scary to the ratios when things are less than 100%.
September 9, 2008
Jeremy Sowers produced his best line of the season on Tuesday night. He held the Orioles to four hits and one run over eight innings. The southpaw mixed in one walk and seven strikeouts as he improved to 3-8.

Our View:The 25-year-old southpaw has had a rough season, but the Indians keep trotting him out there and hoping the Sowers of 2006 can emerge. Fantasy owners shouldn't trust him at this point. Maybe he can string something together late and try to build confidence for 2009.
September 3, 2008
Jeremy Sowers surrendered four earned runs on six hits over 5.1 innings in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox, with one walk and five strikeouts. He gave up two homers in the game, a solo shot to Nick Swisher and a two-run bomb to Alexei Ramirez.

Our View:Sowers falls to 2-8 for the season and his ERA climbs to 5.97. He only won once over six starts in August, and could not get off to a good start in September.
August 17, 2008
Jeremy Sowers allowed two earned runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings of work in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Angels, with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View:He improves to 2-6, and ended a four-game drought without a win. He should only be considered in larger AL-only leagues down the stretch.
