September 30, 2008 Hideki Matsui came to clean out his locker, and though he was seen limping due to surgery on his knee, he still believes he will be ready to rock for Spring Training 2009, according to the Our View:Matsui hit .294-9-45 this season in 337 AB, solid but underwhelming production, but a look at the OPS category tells a different story with a career worst .795 mark. In two of the last three seasons the once Ripken-like Matsui has failed to record 350 AB and he therefore enters 2009 as a huge question mark. |
