Rickie Weeks underwent surgery today to remove torn cartilage from his left knee, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The doctors said he had a "debridement" of the meniscus in that knee.

Our View:The procedure was performed by team physician William Raasch at Froedtert Medical Center. Weeks will begin therapy at home later in the week and is expected to be ready to go by spring training.
October 5, 2008
Following up on an earlier report, Rickie Weeks is out of the NLDS with a torn meniscus in his left knee that will require surgery following the season, according to the AP.

Our View:Milwaukee still has not ruled him out for the World Series if they advance.
October 5, 2008
Rickie Weeks has been removed from the Brewers' 25-man NLDS roster with a sprained left knee, the team's official website reports.

Our View:He has been replaced on the roster by top prospect Alcides Escobar. Ray Durham will start the remainder of the series at second base. Weeks is ineligible to return to the team until the World Series, should the Brewers advance.
October 4, 2008
Rickie Weeks was forced to leave Saturday's critical Game 3 against Philadelphia in the fourth inning due to a sprained left knee, according to the AP. The Brewers trail the best-of-five series 2-0.

Our View:Weeks suffered the injury when he stepped awkwardly on first base trying to beat out a ground ball. We will keep you posted on his status.
October 2, 2008
The Milwaukee Brewers will go with Ray Durham at second base in their game with the Phillies today instead of Rickie Weeks, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:The lineup has more to do with the fact that the Brewers are going with right-hander Brett Myers on the mound, but Weeks' error and two strikeouts probably made the decision pretty easy.
