Edgar Gonzalez was sent outright to Triple-A Tuscon on Tuesday, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Gonzalez was a reliever while he was up with the big club, and didn't really have any fantasy value while he was there.

Edgar Gonzalez, who has missed the last three months of the season while rehabbing a strained right elbow, said he hopes to pitch for Hermosillo in the Mexican Winter League this off-season, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View:Gonzalez held very little fantasy value as a middle reliever this season with a 6.00 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 48 innings.

It was feared that Edgar Gonzalez would require Tommy John surgery on his strained right elbow, but he opted to rehab, and his progress has been favorable, according to the Arizona Republic. Gonzalez threw 25 pitches off the mound on Monday in a bullpen session and manager Bob Melvin said, "I'm surprised to see where he's at right now. Based on what we saw, it's pretty encouraging the road that he's going down right now."

Our View:This is encouraging news, but he holds very little fantasy value as a middle reliever.

Edgar Gonzalez, who is recovering from a strained right elbow, has begun a throwing program, according to the Arizona Republic. He will play catch at 75 to 90 feet, and could be throwing off a mound in a few weeks.

Our View:Gonzalez has a shot to return this season, but is not worth waiting for as a fantasy hurler. He holds a 6.00 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 48 innings this season, with a 1-3 record.
July 8, 2008
The AP reports that Edgar Gonzalez has decided against surgery and could rejoin the Diamondbacks in September.

Our View:The decision has little fantasy impact. Edgar is 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA in six starts this season.
July 5, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez will meet with Dr. Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles on Monday, the Arizona Republic reports. The pitcher is seeking a second opinion on his sore right elbow. Gonzalez may need Tommy John surgery.

Our View:It seems rare for these visits to end with a pitcher not getting a new ligament. We'll update Gonzalez's status after the consultation, but fantasy owners may as well write him off.
July 3, 2008
The Arizona Republic reports that Edgar Gonzalez is on the 15-day DL with a right-elbow strain.

Our View:A poor season just gets worse for Gonzalez. He has been largely ineffective in his 48 innings this year.
April 15, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez underwent oral surgery to take care of a tooth infection that altered his performance Sunday when he lasted a mere three innings against the Rockies, according to MLB.com. He will rejoin the team today, throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, and the team expects him to make his next start, but when he will start remains to be seen.

Our View:His fantasy stock remains limited.
April 6, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez worked five innings for the Diamondbacks, giving up just one run and scattering six hits as Arizona swept a three game series from Colorado on Sunday. He entered the game with a 9.00 career ERA against the Rockies. Gonzalez could receive a hand full of starts with Doug Davis scheduled to undergo surgery and Randy Johnson (back) taking part in a minor league rehab assignment, but he's the odd man out when both pitchers return.
March 26, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez is expected to start the year in the rotation, according to the Arizona Republic. He will be filling in for Randy Johnson, who is recovering from back surgery and will likely open the season on the DL. Gonzalez is 2-0 with a 3.68 ERA over 14.2 innings this spring.
March 17, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez had another strong start on Monday as he allowed one run on three hits over four innings of work against San Diego, with three strikeouts and no walks. His ERA now sits at 1.64 as he fights for a solid role with the team.
March 7, 2008
Edgar Gonzalez had another strong showing on Friday as he pitched three scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts against the White Sox. Gonzalez has not allowed a run in five innings of work this spring.
