Our View:He also struck out twice and walked twice giving him 110 whiffs on the season to go with 70 free passes. This is good news for Granderson who had 315 strikeouts over the previous two seasons and just 52 walks in 612 at bats last season. He had 10 steals were 16 less than last season. He also hit 10 less triples in 2008 than he had in 2007.

Curtis Granderson did not start the game against Rays lefty Scott Kazmir, but he got into the lineup in the sixth inning and batted twice, hitting his 21st home run of the year in Detroit's 7-5 win over Tampa.

Our View:Granderson has had an inconsistent season. He started off slowly, only to get hot in the middle of the year before regressing to a .213 September batting average.

September 6, 2008
Curtis Granderson hit a two-run home run in the eighth to tie up the game with the Minnesota Twins. The Tigers went on to win 6-4. He also added his 23rd double of the year.
