It's possible that Val Majewski, who was recalled from the Orioles on Tuesday, won't be with the club very long, according to the Baltimore Sun. "Nothing's really permanent," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "He may stay, he may not stay. We'll look at it over the next two days and see what the best decision is for us." Either way, Majewski isn't expected to see much playing time.

Val Majewski worked out at first base on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Baltimore Sun. He played all three outfield positions in the minors, but he played first during college. "He was a very, very good first baseman as an amateur, so it's definitely something we're looking at as a possible way to get him to the big leagues quicker," said David Stockstill, the team's director of minor league operations. "Anytime you can be a multi-position player, that gives you an advantage." Majewski missed the entire 2005 season with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.
