Newsbreakers
January 7, 2009
Tadahito Iguchi has been offered a three-year deal (for 600 million yen) by the Chibi Lotte Marines of Japan, according to the Kyodo News.

Our View:Iguchi did not make a decision yet, and is still awaiting offers from other Japanese clubs, as well as from the majors.
January 4, 2009
Tadahito Iguchi is going to begin discussions on Wednesday with the Lotte Marines of the Pacific League, according to the Kyodo News.

Our View:Iguchi could still sign with a major league club but his lower production over the last couple of years could lead him to returning to his home country.
December 31, 2008
Tadahito Iguchi reportedly has several MLB clubs interested in his services, according to NPB Tracker.

Our View:The Royals and Giants may both be fits, but the White Sox could be interested in bringing back the Iguchi.
December 9, 2008
Phillies GM Ruben Amaro shot down a report that the team made an offer to infielder Tadahito Iguchi and added that he's "not really" interested in trying to bring him back, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:Iguchi has not been a fantasy factor for a couple of seasons, but he could still possibly earn a starting job somewhere. He managed 310 at-bats last season despite playing behind Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins.
September 5, 2008
Tadahito Iguchi, who was recently released by the Padres, has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Phillies, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:He is expected to join his new club prior to Saturday's game against the Mets. He should not be considered for fantasy rosters, and will be ineligible for the postseason should the Phillies win the NL East or clinch the wildcard.
