Charlie Haeger has been claimed off waivers by the Padres, according to Scout.com. He should be available to pitch on Friday.

Our View:The 24 year old knuckeballer hurled 11.1 innings for the White Sox in 2007, but has spent the entire 2008 season in Triple-A going 10-13 with a 4.45 ERA. He will likely be nothing more than a mop up reliever, so pay him no attention.
September 6, 2008
Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger has been designated for assignment according to the AP. IF/OF Jason Bourgeois was called up to replace him.

Our View:Haeger never did appear for the White Sox. He was 10-13 with a 4.45 ERA in 28 games, 25 starts, with Charlotte this season.
August 2, 2007
Charlie Haeger was optioned to Triple-A on Thursday to open up a roster spot for Mike MacDougal, who just returned from the DL. In eight relief appearances for the Pale Hose, Haeger held a 7.15 ERA.
July 23, 2007
Charlie Haeger had been scheduled to start one of Tuesday's games for the White Sox. However, since he ended up throwing 61 pitches on Sunday, he won't get the call for Tuesday's contest, according to the Daily Southtown. Look for Gavin Floyd to be called up to start in place of Haeger.
July 20, 2007
Charlie Haeger will likely get a chance to start one of the two games of next Tuesday's doubleheader. Manager Ozzie Guillen told the Chicago Tribune that Haeger is the leading contender for one of the two games as long as he isn't forced to throw too many innings as a reliever over the weekend.
