Norris Hopper is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on Tuesday to repair the torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, according to the AP.

Our View:Hopper was limited to only 50 at-bats this season due to elbow problems, and held no fantasy value.

Norris Hopper is out for the remainder of the season, according to The Sports Network.com. An MRI revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament, and he will need Tommy John surgery, but he should be ready for spring training.

Our View:Hopper only had 10 hits in 50 at-bats, so this will not be a factor for fantasy teams.

The Reds activated Norris Hopper from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.

Our View:Hopper, a preseason sleeper to start in center field for the Reds, is now up to offer depth for the injured and the ill. Jay Bruce's promotion ended any hope that Hopper would see regular playing time this year.

Norris Hopper has moved his rehab up to Triple-A Louisville and could be less than a week away from returning, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The outfielder is on the DL due to right elbow inflammation.

Our View:Hopper is no more than a fourth outfielder for the Reds, and he's of no interest in fantasy leagues.

Norris Hopper is starting in the outfield for Single-A Sarasota Monday. He is coming back from right elbow inflammation.

Our View:Hopper should be back in a week or so if he doesn't suffer any setbacks.
