Jim Miller has been told he will not need surgery to repair the partially torn tendon below his right shoulder, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:He won't participate in baseball activities for 6-8 weeks. Team doctors noted that his injury is similar to the one sustained by Ben Sheets in 2005. Sheets did not require surgery and healed fine with rest and rehab.

The Baltimore Sun reports that an MRI done on Jim Miller's shoulder revealed a partially torn tendon below his right shoulder and won't be able to do any baseball-related activities for six to eight weeks.

Our View:This may require surgery which could disrupt Jim Miller's availability for Spring Training. He appeared in eight games out of the bullpen this season and posted a 1.17 ERA despite an 0-2 record.
September 25, 2008
Orioles reliever Jim Miller will not pitch again this season, as he is dealing with a muscle strain near his right arm, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Miller will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. It is possible he has a small tear in the muscle.
September 11, 2008
Jim Miller earned his first save of the year on Thursday night when he shut the door on the Orioles 6-3 win over the Indians.

Our View:With George Sherrill coming off the DL, Miller will most likely not see very many more save opportunities.
September 3, 2008
Baltimore pitcher Jim Miller threw away a bunt for a game-ending error, allowing Alex Cora to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth Wednesday, as Boston beat Baltimore 5-4.

Our View:This was only Miller's second appearance of the season for the Orioles. Look for Miller to rebound, as his minor league numbers were solid. He posted an ERA of 3.15 with 96 strikeouts in 80 innings while in the minors.
