September 29, 2008 Jim Miller has been told he will not need surgery to repair the partially torn tendon below his right shoulder, according to the Our View:He won't participate in baseball activities for 6-8 weeks. Team doctors noted that his injury is similar to the one sustained by Ben Sheets in 2005. Sheets did not require surgery and healed fine with rest and rehab. |

Our View:This was only Miller's second appearance of the season for the Orioles. Look for Miller to rebound, as his minor league numbers were solid. He posted an ERA of 3.15 with 96 strikeouts in 80 innings while in the minors. |
