Scott Lewis has been named the AL Rookie of the Month for September, according to the AP. The 25-year-old Lewis went 4-0 with a 2.63 ERA over four starts this past month, with 15 strikeouts.

Our View:Lewis won his Major League debut against the Orioles on September 10, and never looked back on his way to earning the monthly honor.
September 26, 2008
Scott Lewis allowed four earned runs on six hits over five innings in Friday's 11-8 win over the White Sox, with one walk and one strikeout.

Our View:He didn't pitch great, but was provided enough run support to remain unbeaten at 4-0 over four starts. The Twins lost to the Royals tonight, but Lewis helped the Indians prevent the rival Sox from gaining any ground in the AL Central race.
September 14, 2008
Scott Lewis dominated the Orioles in his first major league start and will look to continue that success on Monday against the Twins, according to the Indians Official Website. "I'm going to try to do what I did the last start," Lewis said. "I'm just going to try to stay calm and focus on making pitches."

Our View:Lewis doesn't have overpowering stuff, and was only called up from Double-A due to the injury concerns of Anthony Reyes. Tread carefully with Lewis.
September 10, 2008
It was a successful major league debut for Scott Lewis, who went eight strong innings, giving up no runs and only three hits. He also struck out six Orioles.

Our View:It was a a good start for Lewis and if you are in an AL-only league he could provide you with some late season starts.
September 7, 2008
The Indians have recalled Lewis from Double-A Akron. He is expected to start on Wednesday.

Our View:The lefty has been highly effective in the minors and could have some short-term value in AL-only leagues if he can maintain a rotation spot.
