Newsbreakers
September 25, 2008
Carlos Gomez hit two triples and finished the night 4-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored for the Twins in their 7-6 come-from-behind win over the White Sox.

Our View:After three bad months in a row, September has been very good to Carlos Gomez and those few owners that stuck by him.
September 16, 2008
Carlos Gomez coninued his hot streak on Tuesday night against the Indians. He went 2-for-6 with three RBI, a run, and his 31st stolen base of the season. However, he also collected his eighth error of the season which contributed to a costly four run inning early in the game.

Our View:Reports a week ago suggested Gomez may lose his starting spot. Since then, Gomez has garnered an AL Player of the Week award, tallied 15 RBI in September and appears to be a lock to remain in the lineup.
September 15, 2008
As reports were coming out that Carlos Gomez would lose at-bats down the stretch, he did everything he could to stay in the lineup. Last week Gomez was 10-for-22 at the plate with eight RBI. These numbers helped Gomez to the AL Player of the Week award, according to the Indians official web site.

Our View:The only reason you might look to pick up Gomez is if you are in need of some late season SB help.
September 10, 2008
For the first time since 2001 a Minnesota Twin has stolen 30 bases. The honor goes to Carlos Gomez who swiped his 30th bag against the Royals Wednesday night.

Our View:Gomez has seen his at-bats diminish lately and doesn't have much fantasy value.
September 5, 2008
Carlos Gomez's playing time has been decreasing as manager Ron Gardenhire wants to keep his best bats in the lineup during a tight AL Central race against the White Sox, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Gomez didn't start Thursday and only started one of the last four games. Denard Span started in center field in place of him. Gomez started Tuesday, but went 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts against AJ Burnett of Toronto, and is hitless in his last three games. He will continue to be phased out of the lineup until he gets back on track.
