A's catcher Kurt Suzuki was not in the lineup Wednesday, as he is still dealing with the ramifications of a bruised hip suffered in a collision at home plate on Monday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Suzuki should be okay and could get back into the lineup during the season' final days. He should only be an option for fantasy owners in AL-only leagues.
August 28, 2008
Kurt Suzuki won the game for the Athletics on Thursday night as he had a pinch hit double to plate Ryan Sweeney in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the A's a 3-2 victory over the Twins.

Our View:Suzuki had seven home runs and 39 RBI in 213 AB last season, and though he has only seven home runs and 37 RBI in 442 AB this season, he can be considered to have improved his game at the dish thanks to a .284 average and a .350 OBP this season.
July 29, 2008
Kurt Suzuki had his second consecutive three-hit game on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. He seemed to be the only hitter who could make contact with Royals ace Zach Greinke's filthy stuff.

Our View:His average is now an even .300 and he is coming in at a .346 clip in July. He hit .370 in June and should be a consistent producer out of the two-hole for the A's going forward. He plays as regularly as any catcher in the majors.
July 27, 2008
Kurt Suzuki went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in the A's 6-5 victory over the Rangers on Sunday.

Our View:Suzuki's average is up to .294 and the A's have been using him out of the number two spot lately. He doesn't provide much power (five home runs) but has recorded 18 doubles. He is one of the more reliable catchers in fantasy because he plays so often.
July 16, 2008
Kurt Suzuki hit only .213 in May causing many owners to panic, but since then he has rebounded in a big way hitting .325 over his last 36 games.

Our View:Suzuki continues to be extremely inconsistent at the dish, and though his numbers since June 1st are great, he is hitting just .244 with only one RBI over his last 13 games. He isn't a top flight option, but he looks like a solid catcher two moving forward.
July 3, 2008
Kurt Suzuki finished the month of June with an impressive row of averages: .370/.432/.543. He is a regular at the top of the order for the Oakland A's.

Our View:Suzuki is wothy of a look if you are in need of a catcher. We have our doubts that he can keep up his hot streak, but there were only a handful of catchers more productive than he was last month.
June 26, 2008
Kurt Suzuki went 1-for-4 for the third straight game as he pushed his hitting streak to 9-games on Wednesday night.

Our View:Suzuki has been just about the hottest hitting catcher in the game in June with a .353 average over 68 AB.
June 21, 2008
Kurt Suzuki had four hits and drove in five runs, including the game-winning run in the 11th inning for the A's.

Our View:Kurt has a mighty 12 hits in his last five games and he has knocked in a run in three straight outings as he continues to make up for a terrible May in which he batted just .213.
June 18, 2008
The A's took a beating from the Arizona Diamonbacks this evening, falling 11-1 in a game that laid witness to just four Oakland hits. The top man was catcher Kurt Suzuki , going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Our View:Suzuki came in hitting .318 through the month of June, but his run production has lacked severly. He managed just five RBIs through May and has just five through June thus far.
June 14, 2008
Oakland emerged victorious in the Bay Series opener versus the Giants, winning 4-0 on a strong pitching performance, but catcher Kurt Suzuki deserves praise for his work at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple (his first in the majors) and one run scored.

Our View:Suzuki is not a strong hitter, but he is improving his work as he goes. Tonight is a step in the right direction.
May 27, 2008
Kurt Suzuki is quietly riding a six-game hitting streak, according to the SF Chronicle. He is 8-for-22 (.363) over the span, and will look to keep the streak going tonight against AJ Burnett and the Blue Jays.

Our View:Suzuki has raised his season average to .253, but still only has one homer and 13 RBI.
May 14, 2008
Kurt Suzuki, who replaced the slumping Travis Buck in the leadoff spot for the A's in mid-April, gave way to Raja Davis in Wednesday's game against C.C. Sabathia.

Our View:Suzuki, with is batting lines .248/.314/.297, is hitting eighth tonight.
May 7, 2008
Kurt Suzuki had two hits, including his first home run of the season on Wednesday for the A's. Suzuki ended the day with two hits, two runs and two RBI.

Our View:Suzuki has been on a hot streak of late that has vaulted his average with hits in nine of his last 10 games. Look for him to continue to provide value as a depth catcher.
April 14, 2008
Kurt Suzuki went 4-for-4 against the White Sox on Monday. He had three singles, a double, and an RBI. His average rose to .370.

Our View:Suzuki had been in a little slump, going 1-for-13 in his last four games. He also hadn't had an extra base hit since playing in Japan. Suzuki remains a decent No. 2 backstop in mixed leagues.
April 10, 2008
