Brian Horwitz has been outrighted to Triple-A Fresno, according to the SF Chronicle. Kevin Frandsen would have a roster spot if activated from the 60-day DL.

Our View:Horwitz held no fantasy value with a .222 average over 36 at-bats, with two homers and four RBI.

Brian Horwitz has been optioned to Triple-A Fresno.

Our View:Horwitz was serviceable in his time with the Giants (8-for-36), but his only opportunity for everyday at-bats is in the minors.

Brian Horwitz has been handed more playing time since his call up, and Manager Bruce Bochy said he may start two games versus Oakland against a pair of left-handed pitchers this weekend, according to the SF Chronicle. The Giants will be facing Oakland lefties Greg Smith and Dana Eveland. Bochy added, "Brian is swinging the bat well. It's hard not to get him at-bats against lefties."

Our View:Horwitz is hitting .429 over nine games, with two homers and four RBI. He is worth consideration for your lineups this weekend if you need help in your outfield.

Outfielder Brian Horwitz has been called up from Triple-A Fresno, according to the AP. Dan Ortmeier has been placed on the 15-day DL due to a broken left middle finger. Horwitz said, "I will just play day to day. I don’t know what the future is going to bring. I’m happy to be here. It’s all kind of surreal to me. Hanging with these guys and learning from these guys, I tried to take as much as I could out of spring training."

Our View:Horwitz is on a major league roster for the first time in his career. The 25-year-old was hitting .294 over 136 at-bats with five home runs and 18 RBI over 44 games for Fresno this season. He isn't likely going to make a fantasy impact during his stint with the Giants.
