Newsbreakers
December 21, 2008
Ian Kennedy has returned home after hurling 34.2 innings over six starts in Puerto Rico, according to the Journal News. He fared well with a 1.56 ERA, and 31 strikeouts.

Our View:This improves his value a bit in the event that the Yankees decide to trade him. He was reportedly on the Brewers' radar, and the Yankees were notably interested in acquiring outfielder Mike Cameron.
December 11, 2008
Back in early November it was reported that Ian Kennedy was on the Brewers' radar, according to MLBTradeRumors.com.

Our View:This is worth mentioning again, as the Yankees and Brewers are discussing a trade involving outfielder Mike Cameron. The Brewers covet a starting pitcher after losing CC Sabathia (and potentially Ben Sheets), and Ian Kennedy could be mentioned in the negotiations.
August 10, 2008
Ian Kennedy has been sent down to Triple-A Scranton, according to the AP. Billy Traber has been recalled from Scranton as the corresponding move.

Our View:Kennedy has proven he is not ready to make an impact with the Yankees, as he went 0-4 over nine starts, with a 8.17 ERA and 1.92 WHIP. He punched his ticket to Scranton by surrendering five earned runs on nine hits over a mere two innings in his last start Friday against the Angels.
August 9, 2008
Ian Kennedy got bombed on Friday night against the Angels, and afterward told the media that he "wasn't too upset" about it, which has led to heavy criticism, according to Yankees.com. Manager Joe Girardi plans to meet with Kennedy about his start and his comments.

Our View:Kennedy has been horrendous so far this season, and insinuating he does not care is not the way to get anyone on his side. He simply does not belong on fantasy rosters, either.
August 9, 2008
Ian Kennedy was recalled to start for the Yankees on Friday and he was absolutely bombed by the Angels who scored five times before knocking him out of the game after just six outs.

Our View:Kennedy gave up nine hits and a walk on the day, and has looked like a completely different pitcher this year than the one who posted a 1.89 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in three starts last season. Through 10 appearances this season, Ian has a 8.19 ERA and 1.92 WHIP. It doesn't get much uglier than that.
