Kyle Farnsworth, P Thursday 12/4, 1:19 PM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports believes the Royals may pursue reliever Kyle Farnsworth.

Our View: Farnsworth held a 1.52 WHIP over 60.1 innings of relief in 2008, but the righty would provide adequate depth to the Royals' bullpen.
Jack Wilson, SS Thursday 12/4, 11:23 AM CT
The Tigers have reportedly acquired Jack Wilson from the Pirates, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View: It is unclear what the Pirates have received in return for the veteran shortstop. We will keep you posted.
Edgar Renteria, SS Wednesday 12/3, 11:32 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Edgar Renteria has taken a physical for the Giants on Wednesday so the deal appears to be done, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: The deal believed to be on the table for Renteria is a two-year contract at $18 million. We'll let you know when the deal is official.
Edgar Renteria, SS Wednesday 12/3, 1:58 PM CT
The San Francisco Giants are getting closer to a deal with shortstop Edgar Renteria that could be for two years at about $9 million per year, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com.

Our View: Renteria is 33 years of age and hit .270/.317/.382 last year with Detroit and is obviously on the decline, so the price tag seems excessive if the numbers are correct, but the Giants certainly need to address their shortstop situation.
Edgar Renteria, SS Tuesday 12/2, 8:33 PM CT
San Francisco is keeping up its pursuit of free agent shortstop Edgar Renteria, according to the AP.

Our View: The Tigers didn't offer Renteria arbitration so any team can sign him without surrendering draft picks.
Edgar Renteria, SS Monday 12/1, 3:05 PM CT
The Tigers have declined to offer Edgar Renteria salary arbitration, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: Renteria is a Type-A free agent, meaning the Tigers will be missing out on two potential compensatory draft picks if and when Renteria inks with a new MLB club. If Renteria had accepted an arbitration offer, the Tigers would have been responsible for paying him a salary near the $9 million he made in 2008.
