The Nationals were reportedly considering trading for Zack Greinke, according to ESPN.

Our View: It is unknown how serious talks between Jim Bowden (Washington GM) and Dayton Moore (Kansas City GM) were regarding Greinke. He wouldn't come cheap as he held a favorable 1.28 WHIP over 32 starts in 2008.

Mark Grudzielanek, 2B

On Monday, the Royals offered arbitration to Mark Grudzielanek only hours before the deadline, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View: Grudzielanek is still a good option at second base. In 2008 he dealt with some injuries but in 86 games he hit .299 with 24 RBI.

Franquelis Osoria has inked a minor league deal with the Royals, according to MLB.com.

Our View: He held a poor 1.63 WHIP over 60.2 innings of relief with the Pirates in 2008, but will be given a fair shot to compete for a bullpen job with the Royals in spring training.
