Mark Worrell, P Thursday 12/4, 2:04 PM CT
Mark Worrell is believed to be the right-handed reliever to be part of the trade that sends shortstop Khalil Greene to St. Louis, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The Padres will also receive a player to be named later, which may or may nor be Luke Gregerson.

Our View: Worrell has always had strong minor league numbers, but he was buried in a deep group of right-handed relief prospects in St. Louis.
Russ Springer, P Thursday 12/4, 9:27 AM CT
The Dodgers are doing research on Trevor Hoffman and Russ Springer is also believed to be in the mix, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com.

Our View: The Dodgers have concerns about 38-year-old closer Takashi Saito, who missed two months last season with a serious elbow injury. Springer would be a solid target as he held a 1.13 WHIP over 50.1 innings of relief in 2008, and the Cardinals did not offer him arbitration, so the Dodgers would not have to lose draft picks to sign him.
Ryan Ludwick, RF Wednesday 12/3, 6:56 PM CT
Ryan Ludwick could still be dealt to the Braves, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Cardinals are looking for help in the middle infield, so both Kelly Johnson and Yunel Escobar are options that the Cardinals would like to explore.
Trever Miller, P Wednesday 12/3, 5:44 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Trever Miller's contract can be worth $2 million if he reaches all appearance-based incentives, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Miller only had 11 holds last year with a 4.15 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP, so he didn't really have any fantasy value.
Trever Miller, P Wednesday 12/3, 2:59 PM CT
After a few holdups, the anticipated deal between reliever Trever Miller and the St. Louis Cardinals has been finalized, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Instead of being a two-year contract as was first thought, it is for one year. Miller is a lefty specialist, which was a large void in their bullpen last season.
Ryan Ludwick, RF Wednesday 12/3, 1:32 PM CT
The Cardinals still have outfielder Ryan Ludwick on the trading block, according to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Ludwick was a name bandied about when the Cardinals were thought to be in the thick of things for Matt Holliday. They have a surplus of outfielders and could use Ludwick to acquire other needs, such as in the middle infield or starting rotation.
Russ Springer, P Tuesday 12/2, 8:02 AM CT
Russ Springer is likely done in St. Louis as the team declined to offer him salary arbitration, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. GM John Mozeliak said, "Obviously, Russ did a great job for us the past two years. But one place we do have plenty of depth is on the right side of the bullpen. Up until this point we haven't been able to address any of our glaring needs, and right now those remain our priority."

Our View: Springer held a strong 1.13 WHIP over 50.1 innings of relief for the Cardinals in 2008, but the club wants to focus on adding some solid lefties for the bullpen, as well as upgrading their middle infield.
Russ Springer, P Monday 12/1, 7:59 PM CT
The Cardinals will not offer arbitration to reliever Russ Springer, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Houston Atros have said to have interest in the Springer but retirement might be an option also.
Braden Looper, P Monday 12/1, 6:38 PM CT
The Cardinals will not offer arbitration to starter Braden Looper, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Looper was 12-14 in his second year of starting and compiled an ERA of 4.16. Now that the Cardinals have not offered him arbitration any team will be able to sign him without loosing a draft pick.
Jason Isringhausen, P Monday 12/1, 6:28 PM CT
On Monday, the Cardinals did not offer closer Jason Isringhausen salary arbitration, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Isringhausen is coming off elbow surgery and still says he wants to pitch. If he does it will probably not be with the Cardinals
