The Atlanta Braves will make a five-year offer to prized free agent pitcher A.J. Burnett, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Atlanta is trying to rebuild their battered rotation, and with the Jake Peavy talks apparently on ice, they traded for Javier Vazquez and are now going after Burnett.

Gregg Zaun, C

The Tigers are interested in Gregg Zaun, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View:The Tigers need depth at catcher, and Zaun could be used as a mentor for Dusty Ryan. Offensively, Zaun would offer little to the Tigers, and fantasy owners.

Kevin Mench, LF

Kevin Mench is reportedly close to inking a one-year deal for $2 million with the Hanshin Tigers in Japan, according to the NPB Tracker.

Our View:He is expected to push Lew Ford for the starting gig in right field for Hanshin, and bat fifth or sixth in the lineup. He was designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays back in late October and spent most of the season in the minors.
