Richard Jefferson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that while he was surprised he was drafted from New Jersey on draft day, he's OK with the trade. "I didn't know," Jefferson said as he was introduced to the local media today at the Bradley Center. "There was no heads up. I found out, and next thing I know, my phone didn't stop ringing for about a week.

Our View:Jefferson believes he will be a good fit with Bucks guard Michael Redd and their skills would complement each other.

Richard Jefferson is not happy about being dealt from the Nets to the Bucks, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Nets' President Rod Thorn said, "He didn't seem very happy. I spoke to his agent, I called him, texted him. I like Richard. He was here for a long time and I'm sure he still expected to be here. Unless you are the one pushing for it, it's always difficult when you are traded. You are going to a new place, have new teammates. It's hard at first."

Our View:Jefferson moves to a smaller market in Milwaukee and joins a team that doesn't have a recent history of contending. Hopefully he will adjust to the move, and provide new coach Scott Skiles with much needed firepower at forward, which is what he was brought in for.

The Nets have reportedly agreed to trade Richard Jefferson to the Bucks in exchange for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:No draft picks are believed to be involved in the deal. Yi will be moving to a bigger media market in New Jersey, and Jefferson would be given a fresh start with Milwaukee following his misdemeanor assault charge stemming in January. Jefferson would also provide new coach Scott Skiles with much needed firepower at forward, as he averaged 22.6 points in 2007-08.
