Gilbert Arenas has set expecations high as he is targeting a championship with the Wizards, according to the AP. He believes the Wizards are among the five best teams in the NBA when healthy, and he said, "We just have a great group of guys. We’re going to put a banner up there, a championship banner. We’re going to do it for team owner Abe Pollin. This is where I need to be. This is where I need to finish my legacy."

Our View:Arenas is a three-time All-Star, and recorded a career-best 29.3 points per game with the Wizards back in 2005-06, meaning he can light it up on any given night (when healthy). If he and his supporting cast in Washington can stay intact next season, Arenas could be headed for a strong bounce-back campaign.

Gilbert Arenas decided to mock Richard Jefferson for landing in Milwaukee with the Bucks, according to NBA.com. Arenas said, "HAHAHA! Oh man, now that is funny. When I heard that, I started laughing. Oh man, did I start laughing. You know why? Because every player hates Milwaukee. Nobody wants to live in Milwaukee. I’m sorry, Milwaukee, to come down hard on you, but no one in the NBA wants to play in Milwaukee."

Our View:Arenas is truly a character.

According to the Associated Press, Gilbert Arenas has officially signed his six-year, $111 million contract with the Washington Wizards on Sunday. Arenas and the Wizards agreed to the deal July 3, but both sides waited until Arenas returned from an overseas vacation to put ink to paper. "Today is a great day for the Wizards organization," team president Ernie Grunfeld said. "Gilbert is a phenomenal player and his value to the franchise goes beyond what he brings to the court."

Our View: The Wizards now appear to be in line to sign Antawn Jamison to a four-year, $50 million contract.
