Kirk Hinrich will start when the Bulls open their preseason on Thursday night, the Chicago Tribune reports. The Bulls aren't sure if Derrick Rose or Larry Hughes will start alongside Hinrich. Ben Gordon (toe) remains out.

Our View:By our math, there are 96 minutes available between point guard and shooting guard, and that doesn't quite work when you have four guys who probably want 29-32 minutes per game. The starting jobs and rotation remains up in the air.

Kirk Hinrich may be moved, but it will not happen until restricted free agents Luol Deng and Ben Gordon have their contract terms worked out, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Hinrich really regressed last season, and with Derrick Rose now in the mix, it will be tough for the Bulls to keep a backup point guard who will make over $11 million next season. A change of scenery may do the former Jayhawk some good as he tries to rebound from his poor 2007 season.

The Chicago Bulls may be trying to move Kirk Hinrich this summer, and it may be possible despite a contract that still includes four years and $37.5 million. "There is a need for good point guards and I think a lot of people think Hinrich just needs a change of scenery," one GM informs ESPN.com. "I think the Bulls won't have a hard time moving him."

Our View:It wasn't too long ago that Captain Kirk seemed like a long-term fixture for the Bulls. We agree with the GM that Hinrich would benefit from a move, and the 27-year-old point guard could have a bounce back fantasy campaign if he ends up in a good scenario. Oh, and a Hinrich trade would obviously open up time for that Derrick Rose kid.
