July 18, 2008 With Elton Brand in the mix and the team looking to make a serious stride towards progress in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers are rumored to be seeking a new contract extension with restricted free agent Andre Iguodala , and an offer may be sitting on the table as we speak, according to Yahoo Sports. Our View:Sixers' president/general manager Eddie Stefanski met Tuesday in Las Vegas with Rob Pelinka, the agent for Iguodala. Reached via cell phone, Stefanski would not say whether he had tendered an offer for Iguodala, but reports indicate that offer is being considered and the team may have him wrapped early this week. Our View:Iguodala has struggled to perform at a consistent level against a Detroit defense that can stifle (his 21 points tonight is his best in this series), and when he does, his teammates often fail to support the effort. Tonight, only one other starter managed to post a double-digit number in the scoring column (guard Andre Miller, 13 points). That resulted in a loss, and now the Sixers have no more losses to give. |
