October 23, 2008 In a game where Portland rested it's starters, Channing Frye started at center. He scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the 89-100 loss to Utah on Thursday. Our View:Frye's production will be limited by his role this season. He played just 17.2 minutes per game last season and doesn't figure to see a raise in minutes any time soon. |

September 9, 2008 Channing Frye underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs from his left ankle Monday, according to the Our View:He is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks, meaning he will likely miss the start of the regular season, which opens on October 28 for Portland. Frye will be missed as he is a key reserve for the team, but holds little fantasy value. |
