October 30, 2008
Tyrus Thomas sat out of Wednesday's practice, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Thomas tweaked his already swollen ankle in Tuesday's season opening win over the Bucks.

Our View:Thomas only sat for seven minutes in the Bulls' first game, amassing a double-double. He is considered day-to-day, and is expected to start on Friday at Boston.
October 28, 2008
Tyrus Thomas started off the 2008-09 season well with a double-double. Thomas scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds in the Bulls' 108-95 win over the Bucks.

Our View:Thomas will have some good fantasy value. He might not be a starter on your lineup every night but he will be a solid contributor.
October 28, 2008
Tyrus Thomas will start in Tuesday's opener, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Thomas should be a late-round draft pick in most leagues.
October 26, 2008
Tyrus Thomas played just under four minutes in the Bulls' exhibition finale Friday because of swelling in his ankle, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:The Bulls are just taking it easy with Thomas. He should be fine to go full out on Tuesday.
October 24, 2008
The Bulls have exercised Tyrus Thomas' option for 2009-10, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:Thomas has been rock solid through the preseason, and looks to finally take the next step and make an impact in the NBA this season.
October 22, 2008
The Chicago Tribune reports that Tyrus Thomas tweaked his ankle in Tuesday's preseason game and may sit out Wednesday's game. Aaron Gray will start in his place.

Our View:Thomas has had a nice preseason and could be a starter this season. If that's the case, he could help some fantasy rosters. However, he still takes a lot of bad shots and he'll have to figure out a way to make less turnovers.
October 21, 2008
Tyrus Thomas continued a nice preseason for the Bulls. On Tuesday, he had 10 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and two steals in 28 minutes of action as the Bulls defeated the Mavericks 109-105.

Our View:Thomas may finally come through on developing the potential that made him the fourth overall draft pick three years ago. The Bulls rotation has not been set, but at the very least, Thomas should be in the mix. If he does not start, his value should fall dramatically.
October 20, 2008
Tyrus Thomas is making favorable progress as he is averaging 11.4 points and 9.6 rebounds over almost 34 minutes over five preseason games, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Coach Vinny Del Negro said, "'He's making progress. He has a long way to go. That's the exciting part of it. He has a lot of potential, but he just has to continually tap into that potential. And we have to do a good job of staying on him on things, and he has to put the time and work in."

Our View:The Bulls are hoping Thomas can earn the starting spot at power forward, which will allow Drew Gooden to shift to center and result in a more potent frontcourt. Thomas was the fourth-overall pick of the 2006 draft, and is worth considering as a late-round flier for fantasy leagues.
October 18, 2008
Tyrus Thomas registered a team-high 15 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday's 88-80 loss to the Jazz, to go along with one assist and two blocks. He played 29 minutes and hit 7-of-8 free throws.

Our View:Thomas has the skills and potential to break out, but that will depend on his role with the team. He is worthy of a late-round pick as a flier.
October 17, 2008
Tyrus Thomas had a big night for the Bulls with 16 points and 12 rebounds before he fouled out of the Bulls 108-105 victory over the Jazz.

Our View:Thomas hit all 10 of his free throws which is a pretty impressive effort for a guy who owns a career 67.3% mark in two seasons.
October 10, 2008
Tyrus Thomas notched a double-double in Friday's 102-93 loss to the Pacers, with a team-high 15 points and 10 boards. He also recorded one steal and three blocks.

Our View:Thomas was a former lottery pick (fourth overall), and could earn a favorable number of minutes if he continues to perform well through the preseason. He could potentially be worthy of a late-round flier in deeper leagues.
October 9, 2008
Forward Tyrus Thomas will be in the starting lineup when the Bulls open their exhibition season on Thursday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Our View:It helps that big men like Drew Gooden and Joakim Noah are dealing with injuries, but new head coach Vinny Del Negro is bringing an up-tempo style and could give Thomas a lot of minutes. The former fourth overall pick has a ton of athleticism and added bulk this offseason. We'll see if he can turn his skills into consistent production for fantasy squads. This preseason should be telling for Thomas.
July 10, 2008
Tyrus Thomas had 25 points, six rebounds and two blocks in Chicago's 86-74 summer league victory over the Magic, according to InsideHoops.com.

Our View:Thomas is undoubtedly talented, and should he finally put a season together, he could be a real asset to fantasy owners.
June 27, 2008
Chicago Bulls general manager John Paxson thinks the addition of Derrick Rose will be a great benefit to Tyrus Thomas, reports the Associated Press. "I think Tyrus Thomas is going to be a better player because of Derrick Rose. If we can get Tyrus in a position to use the athletic skills that he has, with a guard like Derrick ... as the season goes along, I think that's going to be a huge thing for us," said Paxson.

Our View:At this point, it would be hard for Thomas to get worse. He's not been terrible, but most people expected much greater things from the fourth overall pick. He has shown flashes of what he could become, especially last April, when he scored more than 20 points on three different occasions.
March 5, 2008
The Chicago Bulls suspended forward Tyrus Thomas for two games after missing practice on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. Thomas has failed to meet expectations this season and this suspension only adds to the frustration for fantasy owners (if you still own him).
February 15, 2008
Tyrus Thomas got the start at center in place of Ben Wallace (who received an excused absence to attend family matters) and responded with 10 points, 12 boards, and four blocks in Chicago's 99-92 win. It was Thomas' first double-double since Jan. 27 and only his fourth in 47 games played this year.
February 14, 2008
Tyrus Thomas worked with the first unit during Wednesday's practice, and he could replace Ben Wallace in tonight's starting lineup against Miami, according to the Chicago Tribune. Thomas has started 11 games this season and is averaging 5.7 PPG while averaging 15.9 minutes per game.
February 8, 2008
Bulls power forward Tyrus Thomas helped Chicago to a much needed road win Thursday night at Golden State, scoring 13 of his 15 points in the final period as the Bulls scored on nine of 10 possessions down the stretch. Thomas came off the bench to add five rebounds in his 26 minutes of play.
February 6, 2008
Tyrus Thomas missed Monday's game because of a sprained left foot, but he returned to practice Tuesday and is likely to play tonight. "[Thomas] was a little gimpy in the beginning, but then as he warmed up, he was better," coach Jim Boylan said in the Chicago Sun-Times. "He finished practice, and the big guys were going pretty good down at one end, going one-on-one against each other. He was jumping, active and playing hard. They're going to take him for an MRI to rule out any problems that they can't detect through normal examinations. He looked fine to me."
