June 26, 2008 The Portland Trailblazers have selected Kansas guard Brandon Rush with the 13th pick in tonight's NBA Draft. Our View:Rush was the best player for the Jayhawks in a storybook season and now joins a rising of youth in Portland. With Rush and last year's top pick Greg Oden leading the way, the Blazers seem destined for better days. Rush is going to battle for time at the shooting guard spot, though there is no reason to believe he can overtake the great Brandon Roy for starting honors. However, Rush gives the team a great option off the bench and could become a solid NBA contributor. |
