Walter Sharpe had one of his best practices Sunday, according to the Detroit News. While coming off a sore left knee, he was extremely energetic and productive in the 30-minute, full-court scrimmage. Coach Michael Curry said, "He'd been on vacation for a few days, he should feel good. Walt's been good. He played 24 minutes in the San Antonio game and graded out at 93 (out of 100) defensively. That tells me he's picked up our coverages and he's locked in to what we're doing."

Our View:This is encouraging news, but Sharpe still needs to develop his skills, and will hold little to no fantasy value while working in a limited role.

It seems that Pistons second-round selection Walter Sharpe will not put in time in the NBA's Developmental League this season, instead spending it on the Pistons roster, according to the Detroit News. "Walter will benefit more from being in this structure every day," said Detroit coach Michael Curry.

Our View:It is not likely that Sharpe will see a whole lot of minutes this season, as his game is quite raw. Which of course makes his fantasy value nil.

Second-round pick Walter Sharpe (32nd overall) has officially inked with the Pistons, according to MLive.com. The deal is for twp years, and worth slightly over $880,000.

Our View:Sharpe has strong upside, but is raw and needs time to develop and adapt to the NBA, meaning his fantasy value will be limited as a rookie.

The pick notes "Seattle" but was trade to Detroit, and on the Pistons' behalf, the Sonics selected UAB forward Walter Sharpe with the second pick of the second round of tonight's NBA Draft.

Our View:Sharpe is all about upside, a tremendous athlete with raw basketball skills that needs time to prepare for the NBA. His work ethic is questionable and he failed to impress with his academic struggles in school, but the potential to become a strong NBA player led the Pistons to make a trade and still grab a player they covet.
