Rookie center Trent Plaisted (BYU) has shown promise as a defender, according to MLive.com. He has been among the most consistent performers so far through the summer league, and coach Michael Curry said, "Trent's defense is definitely ahead of his offense. Pick-and-roll is what our league has gone to now. Your bigs have to be able to get out and move their feet. He already can get up and defend pick-and-rolls, which is the hardest thing to do for a big man right now."

Our View:Plaisted averaged six points and 4.5 boards over his first two games in summer league play. He could develop into a sound starter for the Pistons, but his fantasy value will be limited as a rookie.

With the 16th pick of the second round of tonight's NBA Draft, the pick traded from Seattle to Detroit, the Pistons have selected BYU center Trent Plaisted .

Our View:Plaisted has lacked consistency, but at his best he is a force. The Pistons will hope to coach him up for the seasons ahead.
