The score was close and indicates just how great the final game of the Eastern Conference semifinals was, but the failure to seize opportunity on offense by forward Ben Wallace likely cost the Cavs the opportunity to advance, taking the 97-92 defeat from Boston to finish the series, 4-3. Wallace was atrocious in all forms, going 1-for-1 from the floor and 1-for-2 from the free-throw line to score three points with four total assists.

Our View:The true depth of Wallace's inadequacy came with 1:22 left in the 4th. Down by two, LeBron James made a bullet pass under the rim to an unguarded Wallace, but rather than turn and take the ball to the hole, he immediately passed it back to James, double teamed well beyond the three-point arc with second on the shot clock. James forced the trey, missed, and Boston reversed to go up by five with less than a minute left. Game over.

Contrary to initial reports, Cleveland forward Ben Wallace is in the starting lineup this evening and will be contributing to the cause for the Cavaliers as they face the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Our View:Wallace was originally reported as "unlikely to play" after suffering a mild blackout due to an ear infection and allergy symptoms in Game 2. Wallace reports he is feeling fine and will be 100% for tonight's battle with the Celts.

Ben Wallace left Thursday's game with Boston in the first quarter after experiencing dizziness and is doubtful to play in Game 3, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He said, "I got light-headed. My head started spinning. There was smoke in the first quarter. You can't play basketball with your head spinning like that."

Our View:Doctors diagnosed Wallace with allergies and a viral inner-ear infection. Anderson Varejao is likely to fill Wallace's shoes tonight in Cleveland. Boston leads the series 2-0, and Wallace's rebounding will be missed against the physical Celtics, namely Kevin Garnett.
