Zydrunas Ilgauskas led all Cavaliers scorer in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Raptors. In 22 minutes of action, he finished with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.

Our View:Big Z has been a nice player for the better part of a decade but his minutes continue to dwindle as the Cavs have loaded up on front court players.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas has the option to become a free agent after the 2008 season, but the 33-year-old would like to continue his career with the Cavaliers, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He said, "I don't foresee myself going anywhere. Where am I going to go? I grew up here basically. I want to retire as a Cavalier."

Our View:He is scheduled to make $10.8 million this season and $11.5 million next year if he chooses. He should remain productive enough to consider as a solid No. 2 fantasy center.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas will not be allowed to play for Team Lithuania in the upcoming Olympics, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He wants very much to compete in Beijing, but the Cavaliers believe it would be too risky to grant him permission. GM Danny Ferry said, "Zydrunas is an important member of our team and has generally been a higher-risk player due to his injury history. We declined consent for Zydrunas to play in the Olympics when he approached us several weeks ago."

Our View:He battled foot injuries early in his career, but only missed 14 contests from 2002-03 to 2006-07. He did sit out two weeks in early March to rest a bad back this season, which went into the decision to decline his request for the Olympics.
