When the New Orleans Hornets signed free agent James Posey, their odds of winning an NBA Championship went up - literally, making team owner George Shinn a happy man, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "Before we signed (free agent) James Posey, we had 12-to-1 odds to win the championship, which isn't bad. After we signed him, it went to 6 to 1. I will take any day to be one of the top six," Shinn said.

Our View:Posey is a nice player, but the odds for the Hornets are as low as they are because of Chris Paul, which fantasy owners are surely aware of.

Byron Scott told the Times-Picayune that he plans on using James Posey in a sixth-man role. "I've got so many things I can do with him that I've got to try and figure this all out. He can spread the floor and make shots," Scott said.

Our View:At the moment, Morris Peterson remains the starter despite averaging career-lows in points (8.0), rebounds (2.7) and steals (0.6), with 41% shooting and less than one assist per game. Expect Posey's numbers to improve upon last season's.

James Posey has agreed to a four-year deal with the Hornets worth an estimated $25 million, according to ESPN.com. The Celtics had been leery of offering Posey more than two years to return to Boston because of luxury-tax concerns.

Our View:Posey is a phenomenal defender and great role player that will push an already-good Hornets team closer towards the upper echelon of the league.
