Josh Smith, F Friday 10/10, 10:00 PM CT
Josh Smith contributed 12 points, one board, three assists, one steal, and two blocks in Friday's 102-80 loss to the Blazers. He played a little over 25 minutes.

Our View: Smith averaged 17.2 points and 8.2 boards per game in 2007, and looks to be headed for another productive campaign in 2008.
Josh Smith, F Wednesday 10/8, 11:43 PM CT
Josh Smith scored 18 points in 23 minutes in the Hawks' 100-96 win over the Suns on Wednesday night. Smith was 6-of-10 from the floor and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the line.

Our View: It looks like Smith is ready to pick up right where he left off a year ago. In 2007-2008, Smith scored 17 points a game and corralled eight boards a game.
Marvin Williams, G Wednesday 10/8, 11:38 PM CT
In 37 minutes Marvin Williams scored 19 points in the Hawks' 100-96 win over the Suns.

Our View: Some outsiders who have watched the Hawks believe that Williams might have a breakout type year. If that is true Williams might become a good option.
Mike Bibby, G Tuesday 10/7, 6:46 PM CT
Mike Bibby played just 21 minutes in the preseason opener but did some things worth noting. He had three steals and five of his 11 shots were three pointers. He had 11 points in four assists in abbreviated action.

Our View: Bibby hit over 150 threes in the two seasons prior to last and a return to that form increases his value. The young Hawks are exactly the type of team that Bibby can thrive with and Bibby is in his contract year. He should not be overlooked in fantasy drafts.
Al Horford, F Tuesday 10/7, 6:42 PM CT
Al Horford had a solid preseason debut against Dwight Howard and the Magic on Monday. The second-year player played 22 minutes and contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the win.

Our View: The blocked shots are worth noting as he averaged just 0.9 per game as a rookie. His rookie production was similatr to Howard's rookie season and we could see a similar jump in production during his sophomore season. Horford should improve across the board, as will his team, and be a valuable fantasy commodity this season.
Josh Smith, F Monday 10/6, 9:23 PM CT
Josh Smith played a game high 31:39 on Monday night in the Hawks 118-101 victory over the Magic. He scored nine points as he connected on just 4-of-14 shots, though he did add seven boards.

Our View: Smith will continue to be a productive point getter (17.2 points last season), and he is a surprisingly strong rebounder (over eight per game the past two years) for guy who doesn't have the reputation of being a huge inside presence.
Acie Law, G Monday 10/6, 9:14 PM CT
Acie Law led the Hawks 118-101 victory over the Magic on Monday night by scoring a team high 20 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

Our View: Law had an uneven rookie season last year with middling numbers (4.2 points, 2.0 assists). The 11th overall selection out of Texas A&M last year will look to substantially improve on that developmental effort.
Speedy Claxton, G Saturday 10/4, 4:04 PM CT
Speedy Claxton pulled his hamstring during Friday's workout and could be out for a significant amount of time, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Coach Mike Woodson said, "He really could be out for a while. He’ll go on the trip with us this week. But as far as playing, I don’t know. We’ll just have to see how he responds."

Our View: Claxton has suffered an injury in three straight training camps. As a fantasy performer, he holds no value.
